OK. I am going to be putting an order for replacement capacitors together for my
Viking II project, but I think I need to get a minimum order of capacitors to be
able to have reasonable shipping. Need to get onto that since we are going into
a 28 day Pandemic lock-down here... no fun to be had elsewhere......
Hence I am looking at the other stuff on the shelf that will need caps, but
won't necessarily be done anytime soon (as I will be playing with the Viking II,
right?).
I have a TMC master oscillator I need to re cap to use with the Viking II, and
other BAs. So caps for that.
I am also looking at the Johnson Navigator regarding caps for it.
The meter has been replaced, evident by the screws holding it..about the same
size as the stock Navigator meter, but no picture of a Viking on (dead
giveaway?). So... caps for that too.
But.. that meter.... ? Well, it turns out way back before I even had a working
Ranger someone gave me a Ranger carcass... no VFO and other things missing, but
it does have the meter on it.
To be honest, save for the added machine screw heads I think the Navigator meter
is fine.. only a few would notice it does not have an EFJ meter, and its only me
looking at it anyhow.
On at least one photo on the Web I see a Navigator with what seems to be a
Ranger meter.
Anyone have a quick opinion on whether its a reasonable swap to put the Ranger
meter into the Navigator? Aesthetics should not matter since the Navigator
already has some ugly holes from the replacement non-EFJ meter that is on it
now.
Or maybe the Ranger meter should go into the Adventurer with its bizarre wiggly
meter that is a real odd duck.
