Hello all In almost all of my classic old radios I have installed some form of fan a small 2X2 muffin to a small 4 5 blade phono motor fan.I use a contract less thermo to check before and after temps .the lower temps by as much 20 degrees also IREC black tube shields. All will help lower temps. Also check your line voltage 125 plus is a possibly thease days and add up to more cab heat and shorter tube life air movement makes a big difference. If you must stack or have an tight enclosed cab MOVE SOME AIR don't relay on convection.just my 2 cents Darryl WA5TOO

Many boatanchors generate a lot of heat so its really not a
good idea to stack them. Can be stacked on shelves that allow
ventilation. Now, if you are going to run one thing at a time its
not so bad _provided_ there is enough ventilation. If you plug
all the vents in something its going to heat up even if the
things on top of it are not turned on.
Something else is that its not a good idea to have a
loudspeaker on top of a radio because the vibration will couple
and cause feedback. Nearly all receivers are microphonic to some
degree or other.

I figured I would get some opinions on this and wonder if hams do stack these old radio on top of each other?thanks again!73Rich
