    Since I always forget something, a small addition.
    The LAPD and other MF police transmitters had regular four 
letter calls up to some point probably in the mid 1940s, I don't 
know the date, when the FCC changed assigned calls to public 
service transmitters to a combination of letters and numbers. I 
don't remember the original call but KMA367 was the later call. 
Its familiar to many because it was MF and widely heard on 
broadcast receivers but was not a general assignment to LAPD 
transmitters.
