No need for apology. You were right the first time.
I hope you don’t have a stove that produces much CO (carbon monoxide). Sufficient air allows complete combustion and the products of burning natural gas or propane ( hydrocarbons) are water vapor and CO2 (carbon dioxide). Insufficient air supply will produce some CO (carbon monoxide). CO binds to the oxygen carrying part of blood and if enough is inhaled, the victim effectively suffocates.
