I sold one in good shape about a year ago for $80.
 Even though the national radios are really good they are not as popular as
the Hallicrafters and tend to sell for less. He could put it on eBay and an
auction it and let the market decide the price. I don't think he will get
much for it. You can do an advanced search on eBay and filter the results
to see only ones sold and get an idea of what people are paying for them.
