Team,
I have an old Yaesu FT-200, or Henry Radio Tempo One if you prefer, and
although I have fixed many problems and have it on the air, I'm trying to
figure out how one uses, or sets, the carrier insertion pot that is on the
back of the transceiver. I defy anyone who has one of these transceivers to
find any reference in the manual as to how to use it or adjust it. There is
no mention other than that it is a carrier level pot.
It is not only used for AM mode, but it sets the carrier level for CW as
well. It baffles me to think that Yaesu would put it on the back of the
radio if it is to be adjusted as part of tune up or normal operation. I
found that on CW, I need to back it off on 80M or the radio's finals,
6SJ6's, will draw too much current. For other bands, full up is OK.
Anyone have any info or advice as to how and when to adjust this control?
Gotta love early Yaesu manuals!
Thanks!
