[Boatanchors] OT: Commodore Computer Stuff

Thanx for the consideration, Bill !

But we both agree that my acquisition of these would be impractical.

I still have the cartridge with the outboard processor and accompanying
disk to run CP/M on a C64, a few C64 and VIC 20 spare boards and a machine
of each that works (last time I checked) as well as numerous accessories.

Used to do component level repairs on Commodore gear and in the day there
was quite a bit of software for ham applications - RTTY, CW, etc.

There was even software to enable a Commodore machine and a specific modem
to work as a "blue box" (free long distance telephone calls) - the only
time I worked for a place that was "visited" (raided) by RCMP (our Federal
police).

They never bothered us in Service Dept - but seized all the retail copies
of the software in question.

Of course - in Service - we always kept backups of software in secure
locations....

Some of the guys that had worked on the Hyperion (Ajile was a Hyperion
relative - some say a clone) came to work with us in various capacities
after the company had "issues".

A lot of stories all 'round...

Thanx for reviving my memories of Commodore and other early machines !

 - 73 de va3hwa / Bill H.
