I don't want to get into the scrap-or-keep controversy, but if you are asking about valuable parts
in the BC-221, and also the LM frequency meter, the variable capacitor with its 100:1 drive is highly sought after by builders of regenerative receivers. Arnie Coro, CO2KK highly recommends them in his posts to the REGENRX group and on his "DXers unlimited" program on Radio Havana.
