Here's a discussion I bet we all could use: has anyone had any success replacing the cellular foam
that is now melting away like the Wicked Witch of the East? It's really annoying to open up a carefully
stored item only to find a "clean up project".
Packing & shipping centers sell the same stuff as egg carton foam but it will decay in due time itself.
I've seen some Eimac tubes packed in a harder, more resilient cellular foam that does not seem to be
affected. Not sure what the name of the stuff is but the tubes rest in a matching cutout shape. I know
camera and lens sets are also packed in foam but I do not know if it lasts any longer. The last thing
I would want on the adjusting backs of a camera lens is melted foam.
