Bill,
I also use the free Open Office. For some editing I like it better, but I use Outlook as my mail client so at least MS Office is good for that… I have archived email by year I wanted to keep since 1999, in the successive versions of Outlook since then, and all versions were backwards compatible with the original Outlook mail file format.
I also use various distros of Linux, which I love, where I use Thunderbird as my email client in the IMAP mode, but it’s also the backup for Outlook, because Thunderbird can convert Outlook files to it own format, so I keep a copy of each.
As to free QSL card design and print, this one is good: http://www.radioqth.net/qslcards

Thanks Meir,
The office suites I use are even less than those MS Office licenses
(free). But that will help the Windows users on the list. People should
use what they have and know how to use - I never try to "convert"
anybody. That's why I mentioned the Paint program. That other Bill is a
Windows user. Twisting his arm to switch to Linux or Mac won't be
helpful (and not welcome).
