Using the manual date is just fine. No one would argue that with you.
Also CX is more of an operating event than a contest, at least to me.
The idea is more to get the good stuff on the air than who "wins". I
have an industrial RF generator which was tuned for the ISM standard
frequency of 13.56 Mhz, possibly used for cleaning or RF heating or
sputtering. It uses a 6AG7 oscillator, 2E26 buffer multiplier, and a
4-65A final, and was apparently made by Henry Co. No model number, no
date, but between the tube lineup, the general type of components used,
and the overall construction I've dated it arbitrarily at 1960. No big
lawsuits, no complaints, etc., go with what you have. More important to
get it on the air.
