Wayne called it, that needs to be a doorknob or other cap with significant RF current capability because it must handle significant RF current in this circuit. It is the loading padder for 80 meters so the SB-220 should operate normally on 40-10 without it. You may also be able to find large ceramic discs that will handle the RF current but I would be more comfortable with a doorknob type.

Do NOT use one of the red “Ceramite” doorknob caps because although they look like typical transmitting doorknob caps they will not handle significant RF current and will quickly overheat.
