[Boatanchors] BMW Mini Automobile Radio Installation query

Hello;

      I recently purchased a Mini (made by BMW) automobile and want to install a mobile VHF & UHF radio.

I used to use cigarette lighter jack in another car. That did  not work well due to contact resistance problem.

My question is;

where is the best spot to tap a 13.8V DC to use a mobile radio?

Current draw is about 7A max for the radio.
