That is a single individual and there are a fair number of people in this country who bounce cheques.  Certified, and cashier's cheques, are almost always good.  However, it is always a good idea to check with the bank to verify that the cheque is good.  Do NOT use the telephone number on the cheque because, with some scams, they put a telephone number, on the cheque, that they control.  Look for the telephone number on the Internet.
