I recently sold a fairly valuable item in the $275 range to a new buyer in Ecuador. USPS hands off the package to EMS which does the actual Ecuador delivery. USPS Tracking updates showed the package got there on the 4th and by the 15th had cleared Ecuadorian Customs in Quito. That was the last update. The seller is now insistant about not getting his item and has filed for resolution/refund. eBay tells me that they will deduct the whole amount involved from my PAYPAL account and if not available, will charge my credit card. I spoke at length with one of the eBay phone reps who, in the end, told me it does not matter if the seller really got his item and is lying, it does not matter whether the item was ever delivered or not, it only matters that the buyer has "eBay's Money Back Guarantee" and they only need the buyers testimony to make the decision which will be in the buyers favor. In short, I'm scr_ _ _ _ _ .
So, if you're thinking of using the ebay program, keep in mind, its not over until its over ebay is just a vending machine that does not care about anything except extracting $$$ anyway it can. eBay s_ _ _ __.
Cheers,
