​G'morning all..
Not  a  big deal, but the  'O' ring  absence on the band change   shaft
solved . No  ring that  size and  capable of maintaining  a tight  fit
available.
My  solution was  to take the  shaft free  from its  rear slot, cut  three
~1/8" wide pieces of heat shrink tubing with  ID just  able  to  fit over
the  shoulder of the  groove that would be the position of the  O  ring had
one been originally installed.
Use  the  heat  gun to individually  shrink  each layer  as you put  them
on. Result,  after refitting  the   shaft is
  a  tight  fitting  friction band  that  works  perfectly  with  no
slippage .
