[Boatanchors] HRO-60... problem

Pete,

There are a couple of pretty good images of that part on the web: http://www.isquare.com/personal_pages/hro50.htm

That is a HRO-50 but the parts are the same. There is a tension bar and rubber O ring around the shaft that provides the friction, I suspect your O ring is missing or glazed.

While you are in there check for a .1 capacitor from one rectifier plate to ground; if found remove it to avoid taking out your power transformer when it shorts. National used these for a short time but later removed them from production. They are useful only to those who sell replacement transformers.

Subject: [Boatanchors] HRO-60... problem

G'day list...

I've taken delivery of a HRO-60... mostly OK but the band selector
control appears to have lost a vital part that I presume drives the
mounted strips via some sort of friction drive.
The shaft and related mechanical parts appear to be in situ, but
something missing ?
Would someone send me a photo or description as to how the mechanism
is supposed to function... nothing about it in the manual... Thanks
.
Pete
