Use a signal generator that you can read the frequency or use a frequency
counter hooked to the secondary output. I use a URM 25F with the high
output to the input of a signal generator.
Hook the hot lead from the signal generator to a 56K resistor then to one
pin of the crystal. Hook the ground from the generator to the other pin of
the crystal.
Attach a 3 pf capacitor to the hot pin of the crystal then to the input of a
X 10 scope probe. Probe ground goes to the ground pin of the crystal
Tune the signal generator for a null on the scope. That is the frequency
of the crystal. The accuracy will depend on your frequency counter or the
readout on the sig. gen.
