There's a lot more i blew off due to time such as the temp. of the
shack, how long you transmit, the cooling of the amp....most
commercially made ham amps suck for AM; they have wimpy plate supplies
and crappy cooling because doing it right costs too much and hams are
cheap plus many piss and moan about how  _heavy_ it is ("sob") and how
LOUD it is ("eeew") when that all means it can handle continuous duty
for no time limit.  But they want some light weight POS so that's what
manufacturers make.  So, what to do--homebrew or better yet, run class
C RF plate modulated with audio.
