my comments were misunderstood.  look into how parasitic suppressors
work.  they don't stop parasitic oscillations; they prevent them from
ever happening in the first place.  also, don't use wire wound.  this
is an educational opportunity.  the biggest benefit of vintage gear is
the education, not just replacing parts.
