[Boatanchors] [Glowbugs] Can Meissner be wrong twice?

Hue, Primary reistance is 8.1 Ohms.  It is wired as I would expect with the cold end (+) on the outside of the coil to shield the hot end (P) on the inside.  The trimmer capacitor is also wired with its outside shell connected to + to shield the inside that's connected to P.

Now I'm in a quandry as to whether it makes any difference with the D and AVC connections (as shown on the data sheet) with respect to outside and inside. Help anyone? 

I'm no expert on xtal filters, but they all seem to have tight coupling.

  Also why the supertight coupling of the small winding to the tuned circuit? Is it because otherwise with the 

  small coil, signal voltage would be too diminished ?

   

  Astonishing, two separate issues of the IF cans miswired. Where were the inspectors ?
