Robert,
QSl  but the LK500-NTC only has 2 finals...when I first got it in here I installed a new resistor  and the power came up fine. I then removed the plate caps and burned the tubes in for about 18 hours. My problems started when I replaced the plate caps and tried to load it up into a dummy load. I just dropped in 2 different finals and have the same problem..no power up. I'm pretty sure it's the ALO keeping it from powering up..just have to figure what's keeping it activated.
Thanks for your input...

 Bill,

If your Amplifier has (3) 3-500Zs, then you have the LK-550 NTC ALO.

This DOES indeed have a "soft start" feature.  My error!

You still need to put ALL three tubes in place to stop the issue you are
having!

Once you get ALL three tubes in place, you will get to where you
*should* stop blowing that one resistor.

I was able to replace that and burn the tubes in fine. When I put about 80 watts of drive into and tried to tune it, it lost power. I'm thinking the ALO shut it down...the manual does go into any detail about it's operation. I'm thinking it would reset after turning off the power and turning it back on. This does not do it for me. It turns out it took out the 20 ohm power resistor on the soft start board again. Before I start digging into it I just wanted to run it by this forum and see if anyone has experience with this LK500 problem.  BTW I pulled the plate caps off the 3-500 finals in a bad final was keeping it from powering up (ALO sense circuit)...
