Hi Robert,
The board is factory and there is an an addendum dated August 12, 1988 in the manual. It gives a brief description of the soft start circuit.
Is the ALO suppose to reset after turning the amp off and on again? The manual just does not explain it.
Thanks es 73's

Bill,
Amp Supply did NOT install a soft start when they built their Amplifiers. I owned an Amp Supply LK-500ZB.
Someone added that!

Guys,
I have a LK500 by Amp Supply that I'm trying to get back on line for one of our local clubs. It arrived with a burnt 20 ohm/20 watt power resistor on the factory soft start board. I was able to replace that and burn the tubes in fine. When I put about 80 watts of drive into and tried to tune it, it lost power. I'm thinking the ALO shut it down...the manual does go into any detail about it's operation. I'm thinking it would reset after turning off the power and turning it back on. This does not do it for me. It turns out it took out the 20 ohm power resistor on the soft start board again. Before I start digging into it I just wanted to run it by this forum and see if anyone has experience with this LK500 problem. BTW I pulled the plate caps off the 3-500 finals in a bad final was keeping it from powering up (ALO sense circuit)...
Thanks in advance for any inputs....
