Bry,
I am sure that was a mistake or typo in the email. 3396.4 Mhz. is the standard USB/CW crystal for the SB and HW lines which used a 3.395 Mhz. IF; the exception were the HW monobanders but they had an IF in the 2.3 Mhz. range. The only “oddball” crystal I am aware of in the regular SB series is the 3392.110 Mhz. RTTY BFO crystal in the SB-303 receiver.

Subject: [Boatanchors] Question about a Heathkit crystal Frequency
Hi Heathkit fans!
I need your advice on supplying certain crystals. I think this was about some of the SB series or HW series radios...
Someone asked me a while back for a 3996.4 kHz crystal
for one of their Heathkit radios.
I want to be sure this is the correct frequency and I had lost the e-mail. I needed to be sure it is not 3396.4 kHz that is needed or something...
Is this a standard crystal that was used - perhaps for USB or LSB selection in some of the mid-century rigs?
We are gearing up for some more production and wanted to make these available along with some other odd ones like:
29.895 MHz
and
37.895 MHz.
Thanks for any advice. 73 & DX.
