[Boatanchors] Ancient Wire Recorder and Recorded QSO

How many of you have seen a wire recorder?
This one is circa the years just after WWII.
The wire reel contains a recording of a QSO
between
W5CDR and W5GSK "with the group" in Texas,
 on what must be a local net with the RF gains
down, 
since both stations sound like they are talking 
in the same room. Just for interest:

Any chance someone has a callbook from about
1946-1956 which might list these two stations?
