[Boatanchors] TV-7 tube tester question

My trusty TV-7 tube tester works nicely to measure transconductance, but 
lately the neon lamp that indicates shorts or gas has been lighting 
continuously when the rotary switch is in the Shorts or Gas test position.

Can anyone tell me what to look for to correct this?
