This RBC is whuppin' my butt. Got some things fixed but the

bandswitch and LO troubles are causing me to lose what little

bit of hair I have left.. woof..

OK. Has anyone in the Dallas area got a working or un-boogered RBC

for which they would trade or take a reasonable price?

I refuse to be whupped. Old radios DO NOT whup me, dang it.

I need to take a close look at an intact band switch. It appears that

the switch rotors in the ANT box have had their axles rotated out

of alignment, but I find this hard to accept.

I have nice traders like RAL, RAK, TCS, WS-19 and others.

Not much modern stuff, unless you want a kinda playing

"tech special" Icom R-70 (probably needs cap replacement).

Anyone?

This has got to be the most frustrating radio to align, ever.

It's like trying to wrestle a cranky bear. It's big. Adjustments are

spread all over. Four adjustments require you to stick your hand

into the midst of the radio with High Voltage all around and feel

for hidden coil slugs. ZZZZAP. Can't hold the bear with one hand

while tweaking with the other, because you might just brush 200V

and open your eyes on "the other side."

OK I'm through whining for the moment. This radio is just too

nice and pretty and sounds too good to give up. So I ain't!

At least Band One is right. AM guys sound awesome.
