With the “memorize your way to your license” system we have now, I see no
reason why you can’t be expected to expend a bit more effort and get your
General at the same time as your Technician license. How easy do we have
to make it? Send in a check and a few cereal box tops?
Doesn’t the league boast about little Jane or Johnny going from nothing to
Extra in one sitting? They might not know what end of a hot soldering
iron to pick up on the second try if they got it wrong the first time, but
they’re licensed….. and that’s all the league is interested in.
