Howard...we have similar history when it comes to ham radio and I couldn't 
agree more.

One of the things that particularly attracted me when I got my ticket at age 
15 was that it was not an easy thing to do...in fact, it was hard, and gave 
me an intense sense of pride after earning my licence. The exam itself took 
5 hours and I took the day off school!

Being so easy today may be one of the reasons it might seem less attractive 
to many who are looking for something challenging.
