With today's mode of operation old crystal controlled transmitters are at a
disadvantage.
You have to respond to a CQ on the same frequency or very close or the new
people will never hear you. They don't tune around like we used to.
And if you crystal is not on one of the popular calling frequencies no one
will hear you!
