Most of our crystals are considerably less than that $80 figure. We also have 455 kHz off the shelf.

Almost all of the commonly used Collins, Heathkit and Drake crystals etc.

I have bought recently from Quartslab and was satisfied. But when I ask about the price of a 1.65MHz crystal- the price was around $80 from memory. The issue being the thicker quartz.
The ceramic resonator may be a good solution. I have used one in a homebrew RX as BFO some years back.

Hi Jacques,

Thanks for that link. The OP needs an xtal near 455 kc - considerably loer in frequency than what that company lists as being in their ability. Maybe they can make one anyway. Certainly we sometimes need a 'custom' frequency and just nothing else will do. I bookmarked them.
