We also have tube type CB's also.. Being that were are a museum that
archives 'communication' we have some interesting hi lights from the early
CB days.. also there was a 400 mhz citizens band too. not certain if
that is still there or not but there was back in the way back do we have
some examples of that too...

Maybe some of you can help SMECC with some other examples we are looking
for ... see links below that I found while wandering...
-------------
*ok we would love a early primitive International Crystal cb from 57
like this..Also we would like the two part 1959 Browning Laboratories
offering. NOTE! this was advertised in QST!

--------------------------------

* Want ANYTHING related to the frequency band between 460 and 470
megacycles that was the FIRST Citizen Radio assignment. Any examples of
commercial or home brew welcome ... Looking for a BC 645 conversion... that
famous take all the parts off the chassis and start with bare chassis
conversion... Early Heathkit was actually selling bc-645 other surplus
gear for conversion purposes see this Pop Sci mag ad....

There are regs but no license. We can see how well that combination has
worked. Use common sense and type accepted radios. Your Amateur call is
not valid there so don't use it there. Have fun.

I got my CB with a load of other *crap* and thought to maybe strip it
for parts. I decided it is too well made for that. I have snagged
several solid state CBs over the years and used parts of them in other
projects. I also have no aversion to talking to "most" CBers. The only
place we can legally talk to them is on the 11 meter band on the CB
allocated frequencies (or at coffe shops).
