Irving, Texas holds a smallish hamfest every year
in March. This year was on the 4th. I always try
to go because I see some excellent folks there and
nearly always find an unusual treasure of some kind.
A bit thin on boatanchors this year and the prices
were generally high. Someone brought a big pile of
BA gear late in the morning, much of it looking like
it was "fresh from the goat barn" but with Ebay prices.
None of it had sold by the time I left. Did have a
very nice looking (but AC supply hacked) BC-348R
but $150 was a "pass." All the Command Set rigs
save a couple of junkers sold. Found Ronnie,
W5SUM, a nice DX-40 / VF-1 with the crystal door.
Of course, my "lucky" streak for hamfest sales
continues, being "skunked" again, even when my
prices are lower. Why do I keep trying? Maybe
my feet stink or something.
Here are some photos.
