I have tried several ways to bury wire and cable.  This is easy and works. If crossing a lawn, mow it low,Lay out cable or radialsSecure the wire(s) with "sod staples" (U shaped stiff wire sold by Home Depot and others)Water and let the grass grow It also works in garden beds.  I like to keep track of cables and wires so I don't cut them with a shovel.

If you simply lay cable on the lawn it will eventually sink in and
vanish.  I've had that happen with 1/2 inch heliax.  It takes a while,
but it will sink in and disappear after a year or two.   All you need
is patience.
