Use "direct burial" RG-213, "400" type coax, or Heliax equivalent hard line. The 3/8" Heliax would be good, but connectors might be hard to find, expensive, and difficult to install. I bough three 35 foot lengths of the 3/8" Heliax WITH N connectors in the Dayton Hamvention flea market 2 or 3 years back and they will go on my tower to bring 3 VHF antennas down to ground level. That stuff is good for over 1 kW ! I will use 400 direct burial coax to take the signal over to my antenna input panel.

Subject: [Boatanchors] How do I lay coaxial cable underground?
Wireless friends;
I want to ground mount my R5 vertical.
To do so I need to run about 40 feet of coax, underground, from the base
of the antenna to my shack.
What type of an RG-58 equivalent coaxial cable is rated for direct burial
underground?
I was thinking a slit trench several inches deep would do the trick. What
say you?
Thank you.
