Too have an HA-350 and speaker. There was an article in ER several years
back about auto switching in an AM filter.

The HA-350 receiver was designed with SSB in mind. The mechanical filter is
always in line.
National's NC-300, NC-303, NC-173, or NC-183(D) receivers are great for AM.
Hammarlund's SP-400 or SP-600 are also great for AM. Collins R-390 or A are
hard to beat for AM.
