Looking for any documentation on Bell System TE series short haul
microwave TE-1 or TE-2.
Reports, photos any of the physical gear left?
We do have the 1946 Test notebook had written in a fine Bell Labs
notebook by K.D. Smith. It seems this notebook documents te first
operational test of this system between Paramount studio (KTLA) and Mt
Wilson... Klaus Landsberg meetings are in detail too as well as hardware tests
etc etc..
Ken Smith was Bell Labs Engineer who during WWII did RADAR and
Proximity Fuse work. Post war Microwave work such as TE1 and TE2 and then
into the dawn of the semiconductor era, where most of our holdings on him are
about.
I am trying to scratch enough stuff together to make a nice history
section online about this early system.
Prior to the use of something lie this how did they get signal to the
TX site on Wilson? Coax???
Please also send to our mailbox as well as list.
Thanks for your help in advance
