Too late Glenn. Maybe next year. The vast majority of Novice licenses issue din the early days where all WN and KN.


I worked plenty of  WN2s and KN6s back in those days too!

You need to add the WV Novice Class call signs that were used in the 2nd and 6th call areas.  Those usually became WA calls when upgrading.

Well fellas - this year we are honoring the original KN and WN "novice" call signs of the  1950s.


Next year I expect it will be something else. Perhaps we should honor anyone who still has their Novice LICENSE in effect.

Glen Zook tells me that there are 9844 of these guys

holding a CURRENT Novice License but I have yet to talk with one of them! That was certainly news to me!


Does ANYBODY know someone with a CURRENT Novice Class License in effect??


I thought that they had all been grand-fathered into Technician Class licenses at some point a few years ago. Am I mistaken?
