[Boatanchors] Is there a convention?

When a dual winding interstage transformer is shown on a schematic is the top adjustment shown on the top? Is there a convention for identifying the top and bottom slugs on a schematic? I have seen schematics with “top” and “bottom” written by the transformer symbol but that seems to be the exception not the rule!


Confused and bewildered....
