Somebody gave me a Galaxy 5 around 1976 or so.

The only thing wrong with it was a burned out cathode resistor in the finals!!

Wayne and all,  Thanks for the info!  I’ve seen the ad in the 66 WRL catalog and I might actually remember seeing it ‘live’ when I was a kid in 1966.

Dave Thompson told me that he had a friend who owned a Galaxy Duo-Bander for many years so this is a mystery to me.

My question is did WRL design and manufacture the radio?  I know it says WRL on it but was this still Leo Meyersen’s company at the time?  Was it designed by “Galaxy”?

By the way, a neighbor had a Galaxy 5 with matching speaker in the late 60’s and it was a fabulous radio!
