[Boatanchors] Fuses as coil forms?

I don't think I've ever seen this before,
or maybe I have seen it and it didn't
register.

Would a blown 3AG style glass fuse be
a good candidate for a coil form?

Soldering to the ends would take
a light touch, and maybe the ends
of the blown element might cause
some instability, but are there
some other reasons this wouldn't
work?

I'm going to be digging out the
grid dipper later this weekend
for another project, I'll try one
and see what happens.
