I have a good, working, backlighted S meter that came from an older National HRO receiver.

Back in the ‘60s, I was asked by a BC station to convert a 1938 vintage HRO into a Conelrad receiver. This involved adding a tube, relay and speaker, to unmute on loss of carrier.  

In order to include a small front panel speaker, the S meter was removed.  I kept the meter.

The meter movement is 1.2 mA, full-scale.  The movement is good and not sticky, at all.  The backlighting is from a # 40 pilot lamp.
