(Please contact the owner below- I have no connection)

An estate in Shreveport, Louisiana with a lot of Hallicrafters receivers-
some of them quite interesting- and lots of good "broadcast engineer" iron,
needs to be rescued and very soon. House-clearing needed etc. Also a lot
of good "Ham Radio" related tubes- Sorry; no "audiophool" tubes in the
mix. The place is a jumble but there are some jewels. Photo album link:

https://goo.gl/photos/ccKafR3fYF4yXTAK8

These folks need to clear this place by the end of the week. They cannot
pack and ship- sorry. Pick-up only. They're not going to give the stuff to
someone at pennies on the dollar, but they are reasonable and negotiable and
courteous. You be as well, please.

I used to go by the old switching supply saying -- you can't troubleshoot
them until you fix them..Now I just shotgun likely parts so I do not have
to open it up again. I had two Samlux 1223s. Same symptom: Blew fuses. One
had shorted output transistors, and the other had only one blown
transistor, and the thermistor got so hot it melted the solder and fell off
the board after it burned in half. Both had bulging caps. I replaced the
caps with higher temp units (105 deg, I believe). No problems since..

Listen to this gang!

I've been rejected for membership in the HBR-owner list over on QTH.net

've had my hbr-16 project on the bench for years and it works but it ain't
done! That's why they rejected me... my hbr is overdue !!!

REASON FOR REJECTION ???

NO REASON GIVEN !!!

Or could it be...

They find out about my Submarine missions?
Or that I was a Freemason?
Or my political party?
Or that I own... yes! A modern Kenwood handheld?

No, no, no... maybe they found out that I'm using my HQ-110A FOR 80 and 40
AM instead of my HBR which was moved to the bench because of audio output
problems...

I'll be in my bunker

Dave, thanks for posting. I call bullshit on the owners of this stuff. It
must all be disposed of in 4 days. They won't help you get any of this
stuff, it's all your responsibility. It's located in a place with few radio
people.

And, by the way: They're not going to give the stuff to someone at PENNIES
ON THE DOLLAR, but they are reasonable and negotiable and courteous.

OK, they may be "all that" but they are very foolish expecting a miracle
that will save it from the dump? I see this all of the time, and the
curtain draws near on the rest of our beloved BAs.

I looked at the pics, and yes there are some nice Hallicrafters receivers there that I would be interested in, but with the pick up only provision, it's a waste of time to pursue it. A real shame they are going to end up buried in some landfill, but ... What can ya do? On to other listings where the seller IS more reasonable.
