Wanted to say thanks again for all the helpful tips.
I used my citrus cleaner, small bit on a paper towel and the results were spectacular.  The old Swans look new!  And they smell fresh!
I learned from the replies the dusty look is oxidized paint and it just took a nudge to my thick head there is noting deceptive about treating the finish with proper conditioner any more than deep cleaning and waxing oxidized paint on an old vehicle.  Just bringing out the best of the finish.
I had a couple of Swan items I acquired as needed for my power supply kit development and now that they have served their purpose to that end I wanted to make them spiffy to re sell and recover some investment but never want to be deceptive in my sales.
