[Boatanchors] sweep tubes (was Re: Galaxy V)

I did the opposite. I used a transmitting tube in a TV. In our 17" RCA from
the early 1950s, the 6BG6G sweep tube went bad. Comparing to an 807, the
insides looked the same. Checking tube manual data, the two tubes were
identical to very close. I wired up a 5 pin to octal adapter, and it worked
just fine until the TV was scrapped in the 1970s. I found it quite
interesting that the 6BG6G (not 6BG6GT or later) and the 807 are probably
the same tube with a different base. Anyone know this fore sure? At the
next hamfest, dig around the boxes of tubes and pick out a 6BG6G and check
