You'll want a pretty closely matched pair for it. It might not work well if the tube gains are mismatched. I have seen a mod for Galaxy parallel 6HF5 sets that replaced the single grid bias setting pot with a dual pot, so that each tube's idle current could be set separately. Supposedly that alleviated the need for close matches.
