Hi,

I am reclaiming real-estate and downsizing here. I have several items to
move out of here and I am going to start with the Heathkit TX-1 Apache.
It's all there. It all worked recently. It will soon be needing a new
dial drum (available from Glen Zook) and I know it still has all the
original capacitors and condensors. If I was going to keep it those caps
would be the first thing I would address. The dial drum is still usable
but for how much longer?

The big trouble with this radio is the shipping weight. That is going to
cost some bucks. I am not expecting to make enough on the sale to
retire. I'm already retired! I am open to offers (shipping costs
separate) and trades for other, smaller ham gear, test gear, or even
some musical instruments. What kind of dog do you have? As a benchmark I
am suggesting $100. If I install a dial drum and caps my expectations
would be higher. Best deal would be somebody not too far away to come
and get it. Due to the weight of the iron I have heard the iron will
beat the radio to death bouncing around in a UPS truck. My car rides
much better. My wife has suggested we might travel to nearby states (we
are in Michigan) to deliver it. We sometimes travel through
Pennsylvania, New York State, etc enroute to Massachusetts. Other nearby
states include Indiana and Illinois. If there isn't any interest here I
will list it on QRZ or some other places (but not the Bay).

Ready to negotiate something here to get the old radio back on the air
and clear the space. Next up - some other Heathkit gear. But I am
keeping the DX-100 :) That will be in my 'estate sale'.

73,

Bill KU8H
