A couple of years ago, I got rid of a bunch (dating all the way back to the
1917 or so) but it took a lot of effort! As Ray pointed out, there are
some (e.g. Radio) that have some the value. The rest not so much. I stilt
have one or two of the old one's which I kept for nostalgia but all the
rest went - to hams (a box at a time - they paid the postage which is
substantial and, no, magazines don't qualify for the media rate) - some
went to the library (20 or so at a time - they have a 'free' table) but
some just went in the trash. A bit of a PITA but I had 12 or so large
boxes and they needed to go. Now I just subscribe to QST and every year or
so, I purge them and the older ones go to the library.
As you mentioned, having them on CD or DVD is much more reasonable. Good
luck!
