[Boatanchors] 80 JEL coil info?

I received the coil I asked about a couple weeks ago, and
am working on reviving this little homebrew transmitter that
used it. The original one was smashed beyond repair. Thanks
to all for your replies.

It is a simple 6AG7-807 MOPA. The stock coil produced a whopping
two watts out for 10 watts in. It appeared that the output was
too lightly loaded. (400V @ 25mA) (50 ohm resistive load)

So I added 3 turns to the link, and voila, I now see 12W out for
20W in. (400V @ 50mA). I tried tuning the link, but get best power
out with the cold end of the link grounded. It feels like it wants
a few more turns on the link.

So I'm wondering, is there any technical info on this series
of coils? I've found catalog listings, but no solid technical
info on suggested circuits or operating parameters. Google
and Duck Duck go didn't help in this case. I'mn thinking maybe
this coil is not in its recommended circuit.

I'm thinking of just using the tank coil, and wiring it up as
a pi-net.

Thanks
