thanks for the report.  I am really glad you found so much gear at
Dayton.  My take on Dayton was essentially disappointment.  Not with
the people but with the merchandise.  It really is true that a hamfest
is as good as getting what you want.  In my case I was after parts,
specifically good audio and mod. iron and really didn't see much
there.  Big plate iron seemed lacking too.  I stocked up on tubes;
there were some bargains there plus a few little odds and ends but
that was about it for me.    It didn't help that every time a few
drops fell from the sky, the sellers would panic and cover everything
up.  I spent more time indoors than usual because of that.   One thing
that was a bit bizarre--there were three seperate locations with tower
base insulators for sale.   You can go for decades and never see one
at a hamfest but this time you could have taken around 6 of them home.
